Talented comedian Omobaba says he doesn't ask women out, that for him it's the other way round, the women do the asking out themselves. In a recent interview with Encomium Magazine, Omobaba said women mananize him when asked how he copes with female fans...
"I have been coping, I respect my female fans. But coping with female fans I don't ask them out, they ask me out. I don't womanize, but women "mananize" me, permit me to use that language'.

PDP Warns Aides Against Commenting on Party Issues

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned personal aides of NWC members and unauthorised persons to desist from making comments on the party`s administration.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Olisa Metuh, the National Publicity Secretary of the party in Abuja on Monday.
Metuh disassociated the party`s NWC from a statement credited to Sen. Abubakar Gada, Special Adviser to the party’s National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.
Gada, had in the statement suggested that Tukur and some PDP governors were at loggerheads over some political issues.
The PDP spokesman maintained that the comments credited to Gada ``does not in anyway represent the true state of affairs in the party’’.
"For the avoidance of doubt, the NWC enjoys harmonious relationship with our governors, Board of Trustee members, elders of the party and other key stakeholders with the national chairman," he said.

R&B Singer Chris Brown's Probation Revoked After D.C. Assault Charge

Brown pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor assault after the altercation left a 20-year-old man with a broken nose.
R&B singer Chris Brown had his probation revoked by a Los Angeles judge on Monday, but he was not taken into custody because of good reports on his progress in a court-ordered rehab program.
Brown, 24, had his probation revoked by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin during a progress hearing, after he was charged with assault in Washington, D.C. in October for punching a man who was trying to get a picture with the singer.
Brown pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor assault after the altercation left a 20-year-old man with a broken nose. He voluntarily served a two-week stay in a rehabilitation facility for anger management after his October arrest, but Brandlin ordered Brown to complete a 90-day substance abuse and anger management program in November.

ASUU-logo-620x330-300x159ASUU Chairman, University of Lagos Chapter, Dr. Karo Ogbinaka told Channels Television that the union decided to suspend the strike after a marathon meeting held in Minna, Niger State capital on Monday.
In attendance at the meeting, which ran till late in the evening, were all the ASUU branch chairmen and secretaries, the national executive members of the body, coordinators and past leaders, including 56 members from 52 universities.
Dr. Ogbinaka said that, in line with procedures, the different chapters of ASUU would hold congress meetings on Wednesday to inform members and managements of the institutions of the latest development.
“We expect the students to resume and expect their members to go back to class immediately after the congress meeting and we expect the government to keep to the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU),” Dr. Ogninaka stated.

The Federal Government and ASUU had reached a compromise during a negotiation brokered by the President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar on Wednesday, December 11, which led to the signing of the MoU.

Nicotine in e-cigs, tobacco linked to heart disease

The inventor of the electronic cigarette, Hon Lik smokes his invention in Beiijng on May 25, 2009.

The nicotine delivered by cigarettes -- even the electronic versions -- may still contribute to heart disease, a new study suggests.
A new paper delivered at the American Society of Cell Biologyannual meeting in New Orleans on Sunday suggests that nicotine can cause direct harm to cells in the heart.
Nicotine is an highly addictive substance found in tobacco and is also found in vegetables in the nightshade family like eggplant and tomatoes.
The substance itself has a powerful impact on the body. It elevates your mood, suppresses your appetite and stimulates your memory; however, it also speeds up your heart rate and blood pressure.
E-cigarettes satisfy a smoker's craving for nicotine and mimic the physical movements of smoking, but were viewed as a healthier alternative by some since they don't contain the cancer-causing toxins of regular cigarettes.

Boko Haram: Nigeria Imports Tomatoes from Benin

tomatoes
Importation of tomatoes from Benin Republic and other neighbouring countries by Nigerians particularly across the Seme border is on the increase following the Boko Haram insurgence in the North- East of the country famous for tomato farming. As a result, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has collected over N5million baggage fees from such imports in just two months.
A trip to Benin Republic by Financial Vanguard reporter, where tomato farms are rapidly springing up showed that the import of the vegetable has become a big business for both the producers in Benin Republic and buyers of the produce in Nigeria.
During the visits to these farms in Benin Republic, it was discovered that tomatoes produced in Benin are fleshier and do not decay easily but stay longer than those produced in Nigeria. Confirming this to Vanguard, Madam Comfort Akeke, Iya-Oja General of the Badagry Central market said that the fleshy species of tomatoes has less fertilizer as against the watery one that is planted with more fertilizer.

OMG Radar Online Blasts Mariah Carey For Performing @Access Bank’s End Of Year Party Over The Weekend

Mariah Carey proudly posted a pic of herself in a slinky yellow dress and wrote, “Backstage in Nigeria” on Saturday. But maybe the songbird should have done some homework before agreeing to the gig?
Her show was at Access Bank’s Christmas Party which was also a farewell bash for the bank’s managing director. And while Access Bank is a reputable financial institution, should Carey have known a few basics about the African nation before taking the paycheck?

Ironically — given that she was performing for bankers — it seems Carey wasn’t aware Nigeria is well-known as the center of the world’s email financial crimes! Nigeria is even part of the name — as in “Nigerian 411 Scams.”... Continue below

Eku Edewor Speaks On Romance

The Nigerian men I have dated have been very romantic; I guess it depends on the type of man one attracts and also what one deems romantic. Know whom you’re with, some guys don’t want to say cheesy things and look into your eyes but they will always make sure your happiness comes first. Not everything has to be a large “romantic” gesture. Romance has to do with being selfless. Simple things like, choosing to stay with your girlfriend all weekend watching movies instead of being at the clubs all weekend with the boys is romantic; others are sending flowers for no reason at all, surprise dinners, heartfelt messages. If your partner really knows you and loves you, he’ll find ways to be romantic and find ways to make you happy. I actually find Nigerian guys far more active and good when it comes to making large romantic statements. A tip to guys, flowers always makes women happy, even if they say they don’t love flowers. They probably do and if sending chocolates with cards is what your lady wants, it really won’t hurt or take much time."

Being Flamboyant Is Not Satanic! Pastor Tom Samson Explains Why He Wears Big Chains Like Music Stars

Here is what he told Bosede Olusola Obasa in a recent interview.
People say that you are a flamboyant pastor, how would you react to that?

It is because of where I am coming from.

In fact, your neck chain has been described as expensive, just like those worn by Nollywood stars…

It is because they don’t know where I am coming from. I am here to make a statement, including the way I build my buildings. Look at this facility, the one in Ikeja, you also need to come to Royal City. The crown on the building alone costs a lot. Even the school I build must spell class, the hospital and so on, the cars I drive, the clothes I wear – they are all a reflection of what God can do. I will never do anything inferior for God. Who says that being flamboyant is satanic? Satan has nothing. The Bible says, “I give you power to get wealth.” Even if I look expensive, it is more of what I give out than what I wear or have. Between last year and now, I have given out about 20 cars to those who needed them – especially missionaries. Where I live, the people didn’t have electricity supply for four years. I had to intervene with transformer and accessories. I depict and reflect God. My message is that God can lift anyone. I tell the whites that being a Nigerian doesn’t mean one has to beg. In Florida, a man of God wanted to know what needs we had in our church and I said I would rather ask him that question and I gave him $2,000. God’s word says it is more blessed to give than to receive. I finance all my churches abroad.

So, you have no apologies for being so flamboyant?

No, I don’t.

The First Lady Wants Us To Address Her As 'Mama Peace'

On Friday, while inaugurating the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme Maternal and Child Healthotherwise known as MAMA Project, The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan said she should no longer be called Patience but “Mama Peace.”

According to her, “My name is no more Patience but now Mama Peace because I believe that without peace, there will be no more women, no more children and no more health sector. Without peace, the international community will be afraid to come and invest in our country. Peace is from the heart and not from the tongue or lips; not what you say but what is in you. We pray for genuine peace because peace is the key to our arriving at our desired destination as a nation”.

Well said Mama Peace

Photo: Fathered By A Ghost, Married To Another Ghost

This is the kind of story my grandma tells us, and we usually tell her then to stop, grandma just stop the exaggerations. But here is a 20-year old lady narrating her own experience, almost the same story she told us then. She said her father is a ghost and she never met her mum. Her father also brought home another ghost, a man she married, not knowing he was a ghost. But why do ‘ghosts’ do this? They both left when she insisted she wanted to meet their family members, now she is left with nothing and no money to take care of her 3 young children she had for her ghost-husband. I wish a pastor will explain this to us. I will love to know what this means spiritually. This is the time we need the likes of Princess of Zion on this blog ,lol. I don’t believe a man can live again after death, except he’s a demon. I still don’t believe this. There’s no life after death, except after the judgement day. And I pray we all make it to His new paradise, Amen. Read her story below, so you will understand what this is all about.

Photos: Head of Trailer Assn. in Bariga murdered in broad day light

According to who witnessed the incident which occurred on Tuesday Dec.10th around the Yaba area of Lagos, a car that had been parked on the road for quite a while, cornered a trailer as it approached around 4pm on Tuesday. Two hefty men then jumped out of the car and dragged down the driver of the trailer who was wearing a blue suit and began stabbing him in broad day light.

According to eye witnesses, one man concentrated on his head and the other on his tummy, while people watched in horror unable to help the victim. They stabbed him for several minutes while a third man said to be the driver of the car was heard shouting 'kill him', 'kill him' in Yoruba.

The incident which lasted a few minutes caused serious traffic and panic as several motorist, who weren't sure of what was going on, abandoned their vehicles and took to their heels.

After the men ensured that their victim was dead, they got into their car and drove off. A few minutes later, a huge crowd gathered where the victim lay dead where it was later learned that the dead man was the head of the Tipper 'Trailer' association in the Bariga area of Lagos and was just coming back from court where he'd been favoured in a land dispute.

His family members arrived the scene several minutes later, and one member was heard screaming "Can you see Kayode has killed my brother, Can you see". His corpse was removed by the police.

Photos were taken a few minutes after the murder took place. Find them after the cut...*viewer discretion highly advised*

UK's Oldest Newly wedded Couple Prove It's Never Too Late For Love (PHOTO)

t's never too late to say "I do."

Just ask 97-year-old Sid Ratcliffe and 90-year-old Iris Law, who tied the knot Wednesday in a small ceremony surrounded by friends and family in Wolverhampton, Britain -- officially making them the UK's oldest newlywed couple.

Ratcliffe and Law's love story began in 2001 when the pair -- both widowed at the time -- met at a bus stop. As Law explained to SWNS news, “We lived opposite each other so we got the same bus together and it was love at first sight. Sid was just so funny and was very strong, I like that in a man."

The couple has been dating ever since -- taking trips to Majorca, Spain and New York for Ratcliffe's 90th birthday -- but didn't decide to get hitched until six weeks ago.

“It has been on the cards a while and they have thought about it but they weren’t quite sure how to go about
it. They weren’t even sure if they were too old," Law's daughter, Pam James said.
It turns out, they were not.

Bode George no longer ex-convict - Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of Nigeria today quashed all charges of corruption earlier leveled against PDP Chieftain and close pal of former president Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Bode George. The Supreme Court Judges headed by Justice Afolabi Fabiyi while passing their verdict said the charges of contract splitting brought against Mr Bode George by the EFCC was unknown to the law at the time he was convicted of the crime.

A Lagos high court judge, Justice Joseph Olubunmi Oyewole on Oct 2009 convicted Chief Bode George and 5 others for corruption and diversion of funds totalling N84billion when they served on  the board of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA. He was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment and was released Feb 26 2011. So now, he's no longer an ex-convict.

Governor Fashola's Remarks At Memorial Service for Mandela

I feel truly privileged and humbled to speak at a Memorial in honour of a man for whom words truly become insufficient to define his impact on our planet and on all of us.

And Nelson Mandela has really impacted this planet. I doubt whether there is anything that could be said about him that has not already been said; whether by way of tributes in newspapers, social media platform and indeed the oratories delivered since his passage.

As I myself said in a Tweet that I posted last week, we must all consider ourselves privileged to have shared this planet with him.

In the past few days, so much of his life has become a more open book that reveals the many facets in which his presence remains unforgettable; from Boxing to Law Practice and to Football in prison, his theatre of expression was seemingly limitless.

Even in the fashion industry, he impacted with his famous shirt and a brand that bore his famous prison number. He has left so much for us to ponder about.
